Recruitment

On receipt of application forms, we log the main details and select the appropriate candidates to invite for an interview. Management may be in touch for a telephone chat prior to interview stage.

During COVID times, a formal interview will take place via video call to ensure we follow all government guidelines. This will be carried out by the Project Manager/Assistant Project manager and the Practitioner from the club, where candidates are asked a series of questions that help to decipher the suitability to the role.  Candidates have an opportunity to ask questions re the position and the company.

Successful candidates are contacted to offer the position and this is put in writing.  The job offer is subject to the candidate either obtaining a PVG scheme record (at the cost of the candidate) or the company applying for a scheme record update (at the cost to the company) to their existing record.  Positions are also subject to a completed GP reference form and 2 returned references.

Once a candidate’s PVG has been returned with no relevant vetting information detailed, the candidate may start their employment and issued with a sheet detailing their responsibilities as a PVG scheme member. New candidates must complete all relevant paperwork and will work through their induction with their senior member of staff.  New staff will attend a 3 month probationary interview for management to assess their progress and ability in the role and to give staff an opportunity to highlight any areas of concern or training requirements. A PVG update will be required every 3 years.

Volunteers

All volunteers must complete an application form, attend an interview, and provide details to apply for a PVG scheme record.  This must all be completed before volunteering can commence.

All volunteers will be made familiar with Club policies and procedures.

All members of staff will be issued with a contract of employment which will detail all conditions of service including rate of pay, annual leave entitlement, and statutory rights.
